Cornerstone

وضاحت

Cornerstone makes WordPress practical for any type of site by enhancing its content management capabilities. Too long have we had to resort to hacks like using categories in menus to build a pseudo site structure (you know what I’m talking about).

Cornerstone enhances your WordPress site in several ways. One of the most useful features is one that allows WordPress to be used for sites that go beyond just blogging– Posts in Sections. Create a section, add posts to it, they show up when visitors navigate to that section. Simple as that. It really is, but because you’re awesome here’s a tutorial on how to do it.

Thanks for the Support!

I had a few difficulties using the plugin. It is important to be familiar with the template technique. Thanks to the friendly and patient support, I was finally able to set everything up as I wanted it. Thank you for this plugin!

Why should installing a plugin be so hard! 1) find Cornerstone on the plugin store. 2) click install 3) click activate 4) find it on your list of installed and activated plugins. All works fine. But does absolutely NOTHING. No menu items, no settings link. So you could start trying to figure out why, but then that will waste another half an hour. Because there is nothing to discover. No warning messages, further hints at what you ought to do. It is not going to do anything. So don’t waste your time. I finally downloaded Live Composer instead. Immediately it worked. That made me feel that it was not me after all. To the developers: Instructions please guys. I am sure it’s great when it works. But do not assume new users to the plugin know how to navigate the installation procedures.

I found the idea of this plugin quite useful so I was tempted to give a five star rating. But the permalink function is not fully configurable and does not work without trailing slashes which in some cases might be wanted. Since I found that a central part of the task the plugin should be used for is not functional I only gave it a 3 stars rating.

Thanks to cornerstone and in combination with the theme X I’m able to mockup designs together with my clients, because it’s so easy and fast to use.
