Manually writing alt text for hundreds of images is a job nobody finishes. Imagalt Image Description Assistant connects your media library to imagalt.com and does it for you — an AI vision model looks at every image and writes a clear, human alt text.

See everything before anything changes
Most bulk tools write straight into your media library. If the AI gets an image wrong, your only option is to hunt it down by hand. That’s exactly the mess this plugin is built to avoid:
- Dry-run preview — every generated alt text appears in a review table first. Nothing is written until you press Apply.
- Skip existing alt text — images that already have alt text are never touched by default. Overwriting your own work requires a deliberate choice.
- One-click rollback — every apply is snapshotted. If a batch looks wrong, restore the previous alt text for the whole batch with one click.

Will it overwrite alt text I already wrote?

No. By default only images with empty alt text are touched. Existing alt text is skipped, and anything the AI does write is snapshotted for one-click rollback.

Is AI-generated alt text good for SEO and accessibility?

The model writes short, descriptive, human alt text describing the image content — the format recommended by WCAG and by Google’s image SEO guidelines. You always review it in the dry-run preview before it is applied.

Where does the image go?
