If you want to register GA4 with GTM and GSC after embedding GTM code on your website, select GTM in “How to verify GSC ownership”. If you try to verify ownership with GA4, it will fail with an error You can also use only GA4 (gtag) and GSC. Depending on the theme, some tags (such as the “a” tag) are embedded directly under the body tag as theme-specific elements. In that case, if you select GTM in “How to verify GSC ownership”, it will unfortunately fail, so please set it in “HTML tag”.
